Paul Nelson Design Thank you to Photographer and Designer Paul John Nelson   for working with us to pull together a logo design that captures our mood and ethos.   The agave symbolises the importance of family tradition and for skills and crafts to be passed down from generation to generation. We relate this to the wine making region we live in and what we hope Mesita will leave behind. A drop of wine falling into the palm of a hand represents the wine we drink with love, the handmade nature of our food and of the wine making process in our rural town.

Tamale Inc Not quite a burrito, in no way a fajita, and not even close to being a taco, a tamale is made of corn-based dough (or maize), and can be filled with beef, chicken, pork, chilli, cheese, beans or vegetables. Tamales come wrapped in a corn husk which forms the tamale and gives it a distinct texture. Cooking is a breeze, just boil, microwave or steam. Add some salsa, guacamole or hot sauce and enjoy!

Grava Wines Grava (Spanish; = gravel) encapsulates the essence of grava wine production with our grapes grown on gravelly alluvial soil. Alistair has spent over ten years working extensively across various wine regions in Spain, including Galicia, Segovia, Toro and Malaga. He brings this broad experience with different climatic regions, diverse grape varieties and varied winemaking traditions to a New Zealand region renowned for high-quality wine production. Alistair particularly loves the traditional Spanish way of combining wine and food, while socialising with friends and family. This culture has lead to the grava wines being those that can be enjoyed in this setting, and work very well with a range of foods.

Six Barrel Soda Pals since the 90s, Joe & Mike have shared years of questionable fashion choices and ridiculous business plans. After some dodgy batches and accidental fermentation we perfected our syrups for cocktails and sodas in our Wellington dive bar and in 2012 we started Six Barrel Soda Co. with a lofty mission to shake up a flat soft drink market with experimental flavours and a new level of quality. We fired up a 10L pot and used a beat-up soda stream to make drinks in our soda store to show what we believe soda can be. Our early brave customers liked it and now our soda syrups and bottled sodas are now being used to make wonderful drinks all over the place by the best soda jerks, the most creative cafes, restaurants and bars and home soda fans looking for something different. Soft drinks need to change, so we're changing them.

Don Luciano Cafe & Roastery Don Luciano owner, Marvin draws on his Honduran heritage to introduce locals to the flavours and verve of his native Central America.     The first thing people usually ask is why Marvin has called his new café ‘Don Luciano’. “It’s the name of my grandfather, who was a coffee farmer in Honduras. He introduced me to coffee.” Coffee, says Marvin, and the rituals around making it, “gave my grandfather so much pleasure. He had a real passion for it.” Don Luciano was born in 1896 and he grew coffee in La Esperanza, in the Intibucá region of Honduras, at one of the highest altitudes in Central America – “where the best coffee comes from”.
